My Christmas 2011 Build

December 2, 2011

My last build was a cakewalk, installing windows within an hour.  This one was much more of a headache.  This will definitely be my last build with a Micro-ATX case.

Wire management was a PAAAIN.

It’s a nightmare with these types of cases., but anyway  On with the build.

CPU: Intel Core i5 2500 3.3Ghz

Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-Z68MA-D2H-B3 micro-ATX

Memory: CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB  DDR3-1333Mhz

GPU: Radeon HD 6870 2GB (eventually 2x CrossfireX setup)

HD: 2x Seagate 2TB(Already own) & an OCZ Vertex 3 60GB SSD

Case: Thermaltake LANBOX lite

PSU: Rosewill 1KW PSU

Motherboard fit in awfully nice and snug, but I began to wonder about the video card, I informally measured it, but i noticed it was going to be a much tighter than I thought.

16GB of Ram looks so sick in there.

I was saving the Radeon for last and I’m just shocked at the size of this SSD.

In comparison to the 2TB HDD

Saving the best for last, time to unbox that Radeon.

My reaction when I finally opened it.

Size comparison to my iPhone.

Unbelievable.  Just gigantic.

Have about 5mm of space left…whew.

This was right before the wire management got to me and I started to forget to continue to take pics

Meh, l0oks like they’re white, but they’re actually really blue.
Boot times ranging from 16 to 23s, more hard drives make the boot process take longer.
